Sea themed salt dough & slime
This weeks #yesbebemission is based on the sea so as well as some awesome stacks, we today have made some salt dough creatures (for an ITP for tomorrow) & some sea blue slime!
Yes Bebe shared a recipe for salt dough yesterday on their IG post so I made some this morning, my son helped to mix it and my cousin (who i look after once a week during summer) made some creatures! Zach loved playing with the dough and found it really fun to roll up and pat together, to be fair he liked it more than I thought he would! We made a combination of animals and some pebbles so that tomorrow I can create a rock pool! We made a jellyfish, crab, a couple fish, an anemone, some starfish, snail and some pebbles so there was a good mix just like you'd find in good rock pool. I've been painting them this evening using some acrylics to bring them to life!
We also made a slime mixture today which was a huge hit with the 9 year and Zach loved playing with it after it was made! The texture was a combination of slime and play-do but it was surprisingly satisfying to touch and play with, it also smelt amazing which was an added bonus!
The recipe I used was Zach's bath wash, food colouring and cornflour, that simple!!
I didn't use a particular measurement, it was more like add cornflour until it makes a decent texture, after a bit of mixing we tipped it out into a tray, added more cornflour and kneaded it until it stopped sticking!
Play Dough's available at yesbebe
I gave it to Zach on his table and gave him his Lanka Kade sea animals to play with in the slime and he loved it, he loved squeezing it, crumbling it, patting it, kneading it! The fun was endless and it was so sensory, it used touch, smell, sound, sight and thankfully not taste HAHA! It was such a lovely activity and its now in an air tight container hopefully to use again soon!
